The above T-ball pictures are a fun story. In a 2006 Richmond tourney, my son Walker came to bat. The umpire, whom you can see in the last picture, said to him, "So what you gonna do, big fella." Walker replied simply, "I'm gonna hit a home run." Walker then hit the ball over the right fielder, who started on a chase after the ball. As he was on his way to second, and looking at the third base coach (Coach Karl Kennedy) for direction, I quietly said to myself, "Don't hold him Karl". Karl waved him to third, and as he rounded second base, the umpire said to me, "He's gonna do it!" Walker crosses the plate as the throw from the cutoff man comes to the catcher about 10 feet in front of the plate. The last picture shows me holding Walker, after I tossed him in the air out of joy. That toss, when reviewed in my mind days later, actually frightened me because of how high I threw him. By clicking on that picture, you can see the smile on Walker's face, the umpires face, and the joy of his friend Jayden, who was next to us.
