| After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and attended basic traingin at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He was also stationed at Chunute Air Force Base in Illinois. Most of his service was at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas, where he worked on the flight line as a repairman on the giant B-36 Stratofortress and the then-new B-52 Bombers. While he was there, he met his wife, Glenna Faye McBride.74 |
